yes it's confirmed they are tearing it down this summer and will begin "on or by June 1st." Plus they are taking down the other sizable buildings on the campus.redox wrote:That sucks!Esoteric wrote:2 wrecking balls parked outside, I hear.

June 1st? That's like two days from now. I'm so disappointed! I've lived in KS my whole life and I never knew this existed! I was seriously excited to go check it out.

I am a novice on this type of posting but I was fascinated by the TSH stuff as I spent nearly two years there in the 60's. Few people know that as I moved away, got my Masters Degree and hid my past well. However, I would love to share info about the hospital and answer questions. the building someone asked about and wondered if it was home to a Superintendent was originally part of the farm house that was there in the very early years. I know a lot about the layout to the few older buildings in the pictures and Castle Bldg. which you probably know was razed. As for a story, I experienced two things there that I truly feel were significant but I don't know how to investigate them. Escuse my lack of experience on the post, pls.

The access to the tunnels is exposed in the fenced in area. One could just hop the fence and get in. I've spent enough time down there and don't want to see them again but would like to check out the small powerplant which I think is closed.
But yeah the 2 big buildings are gone and the back buildings are not interesting.

Any idea if this location is still accessible?
