Clearly they just used a girl with abnormally small hands and had her hold the mushroom up close to the lens. Open and shut case gentlemen.

Measured at 12 inches. Girl is 4 years old. Initial impact of picture makes it look bigger, but that's still a pretty big morel. Biggest I've found was about 7 inches, and not nearly as well shaped.
