Abandoned mansions "west of Branson"
RE: Abandoned mansions "west of Branson"
I would call those in the first pic Mc Mansions. Little mini mansions built in mass like $1 Mcdonald's cheeseburgers.
When they build these things contractors are known to go as cheap as possible on the materials.
Now if I remember right, I heard the developer for Indian Ridge is heading to prison for fraud and things like that.

We are all just sloguns waiting to have our triggers pulled.

Jim Shirato is the biggest douche ever. Lower than a snake's ball bag. Way to go, Shit-rato!tablerock wrote:Indian Ridge condo construction in Notch were put on hold a couple of years ago. I know the former landowner and turkey hunted in the woods there before they cleared everything.
The name of the developer is Shirato out of Spfld.

quarry, no mine. Pretty small, quarry-wise and basically cut into the hillside. Been there, it's boring.
But it does remind me of something else over that aways you may find interesting. pm'd

Algamate and I have been in all of those. There are cabinets in all of them with granite counter tops.
In one of the garages there is black leather furniture. Its pretty cool. They are pretty cookie cutterish. There's pretty much nothing in them...

Those are owned by one of the people that was building them. He got the whole little unfinished neighborhood for 325 thousand at auction. That's pretty cheap when you consider the foreclosure being for a 4.2 million dollar loan. It would take a lot more work to make that place an actual tourist attraction. People normally don't keep going past Silver Dollar City. You may not see much happen there for awhile. I haven't been by there in a long while. Has anyone been there recently?

Wow, that's a steal! Nothing had changed last time I was through there. It's been maybe six months though.RedRook wrote:Those are owned by one of the people that was building them. He got the whole little unfinished neighborhood for 325 thousand

The wannabe mansions are just miles away from steal your dollar city. my dad told me that in the economic decline the big shot that was building these went bankrupt and the government foreclosed on the land. so they are just sitting there to rot. none of them are complete and there is no security. I stopped by for a peek last year and there was not very much to see. but surprisingly I found absolutely no vandalism at the time.
Getcha Pull.

Here are pics from this past weekend (June 2014). I wasn't able to get around the other side but from the highway you can tell some that face that way (the far ones) look basically finished - brick and stone all done, etc. Just in the few minutes I was roaming around, several other vehicles came down the road so clearly it's a point of curiosity for many people.

There's activity here. I saw several bulldozers. Looks like they regraded the dirt roads down to the houses and knocked down the house that was just studs.
One of you peeps down that way need to keep up with this now.

I don't think that unpaid construction contractor has to worry about the fact he wasn't paid anymore.
