Ricks New Alumiumin Guitar
Re: Ricks New Alumiumin Guitar
Alumiumin? Is that the brand? Or a newly discovered type of metal?
Btw I'm a douche. That is all...
Re: Ricks New Alumiumin Guitar
That thing is milled from solid stock!!!!
I'm guessing that was NOT cheap!
That's for metal bands. They take it and smash the stage with it. You sure as hell aren't going to smash it on the stage.

RE: Ricks New Alumiumin Guitar
What's the sound like compared to a traditional tele?
I've noticed a huge difference going from a typical bolt on neck guitar to a neck thru. More sustain, fuller more dynamic sound, etc. I've considered even getting a sustain block that bolts on the underside of the bridge to give it a little more mass for the tone. But I'm curious what that metal does to the tone/sustain.

Re: Ricks New Alumiumin Guitar
no bong
yes it starts out as a 44 pound solid block of alum
as far as tone its way diffrent than any of my other teles its kind of a thinner P-90 sound i think it may need a mini bucker in the brdige position I really wanted a set of Vodo Pickups but OMG they were like $300 more and i was already over my budget
As far as sustain OMG it will sustain like 3 days seriously it does have a ton of sustain its heavier than my thinline tele but lighter than my B bender tele
Id say it kind of has a bell type of sustain to it
the neck is totaly super easy to chord
it is anodized so it should never tarnish or corrode
Metalin Guitars.com is a St James Based Machine Shop that builds these they do start around $2500 I wanted the shiney tele copy but they have a black anodized double cut away with P-90s in it I think the web site might be like
metalin guitars.com?? not real sure
