Re: Springfield Lake to New Orleans in a Kayak
do you have a better picture of the map you are traveling that you can post? Also are you going to check in on a map as you are traveling?

Heck of a time of the year to do this. Hopefully the rain only makes his trip swift and not formidable. Good luck to him!

RE: Springfield Lake to New Orleans in a Kayak
hey guys, I couldn't not
check in on here at least once. I have loads of great pics but unfortunately I have no
way to transfer them from my camera
to online and I may not until I get back but when I do get back, I'm going to add them in.
Thanks for following along and keeping the thread up. White rabbit, I got your comment and thank you! I have paper map backups and it's actually been good since it makes me pay closer attention to what i'm doing and if I get into a huge bind, I can still pull the coordinates from my gps and call it in if necessary.
I was supposed to set up a time to meet with some of the news people the week before i left but i had some car trouble (right as I'm getting the darned thing paid off) and a lot of last minute preparations to do. I'm thinking about seeing if maybe they want to do a combined segment on what I did, the upcoming outdoor day festival at the lake and this group of guys training for the mr340 when I get back. I feel bad not following up like I should have with them but the trip itself got in the way.
Anyway...I'm off to bed...it's river time in the morning.

I think something clever is supposed to go right here.

Come Thursday it'll be 3 weeks that he's been floating about.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Sounds like he had a few scary moments, but definately sounds like he has fun doing that. I wish he did have more pictures along the way, but he does a great job of explainin what happens.

I've been threatening for years to float the Buffalo from Ponca to the White River. Just waiting for my son to get old enough to go with me. Four more years, I'm thinking.gimpface wrote:Reading Keetz's blog makes me incredibly jealous. Sounds like an awesome adventure.

Sounds like fun. Ya, i bet you are ready for him to be old enough, so that you can show him a lot of the places you have explored.
