This is why I make friends in different countries, so I don't have to buy a hotel while I play underground. It's just cheaper that way.

Awesome- thanks for sharing.

Here's what wiki has on the Beijing Underground:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undergroun ... Beijing%29

It says that they cover an area of 33 square miles, but doesn't give a total length. I find it hard to believe that those tunnels are actually longer than the Great Wall though, which is about 5500 miles long.

Sounds like they've been closed to the public since 2008, but with an area of that size, there's gotta be misc. entry points scattered all across the city.

Here's the best part (from the wiki):
The government claimed that the tunnels could accommodate all of Beijing's six million inhabitants upon its completion.

it said there are passages leading several kilometers to the great wall, so I'm wondering if there are hatches or manholes in the wall itself, or what the entries look like.

It would be awesome to go to some ancient structure like the wall and find some secret trapdoor leading to miles of off limits tunnels beneath a city.
