Any 417 home brewers?
Just curious. About to start a batch of Hefeweizen and some wine this weekend or next myself.

I got a generic kit for Christmas this year and plan on starting it soon. Always wanted to do this.

What kind of kit? The Mr. Beer type or the complete from scratch? A lot of people start off with the former but if you enjoy it you'll eventually want to switch to the latter.

My uncle just did that with wild grapes he picked on my parents farm. I haven't tried it yet but he gave us several gallons off it around Christmas time and everyone else thought it was great. It took him like 3 years to make it.

Yeah MR beer. And yeah I figured as much, but this ought to be a good primer to decide how much I enjoy the process. Maybe I'll learn some tricks and decide I want to move on to doing it from scratch.

If you ever do decided to take it to the next level there's a great little store called The Home Brewery in Ozark next to Lambert's, or Midwestbrewingsupplies.com. Make sure your bottles seal properly that ruined my first batch about 6 years ago. Its a lot of fun good luck.
