Sure, quite a bit outside the Ozarks, but if anyone's around mid-Texas I'll bet the site of Crush would be interesting to explore with a metal detector!

RE: The Crash at Crush
"Unexpectedly the impact caused both engine boilers to explode. Debris, some pieces as large as half a drive-wheel, was blown hundreds of feet into the air.[2] Some of the debris came down among the spectators, killing three and injuring several more. Event photographer Jarvis "Joe" Deane lost one eye to a flying bolt.[3] The total kinetic energy released at the point of impact in the collision was equal to 200 megajoules (MJ), or about 50 kg of TNT."
Unexpected?Really?
Is it wrong that I started laughing uncontrollably after reading this?

Stopped by there this week as I passing throught from picking up a truck in Houston. The site marker has been moved downtown by the old depot. The original site is nothing but a grazing pasture for cattle now.
