I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask this in but I'm going to New York to stay with some friends who live in Harlem for spring break in a couple weeks. I know about Freedom Tunnel and Yonkers Power station, but does anyone know of anything else that I should try to check out?

They live in Central Harlem which isn't bad, East Harlem is supposed to be worse but probably not as sketchy as some of the areas everyone explores in St. Louis.

Are you on UER? I'm a "full member" and checked the database for NY, but I don't see any entries for Harlem.

I am on UER but I never post and I'm not a full member. All the threads there are people from New York telling people not from there to not explore there. I'm not only looking for places in Harlem I'll just have the subway to get around.

The internet was right, but I'll put up a couple pictures anyway. I went to 4 different places and didn't get into any of them. I even got stopped, questioned, and had my bag searched by NYPD for walking close to a building in Brooklyn. I was a few feet from getting in and they were in an unmarked car watching. After a couple days of trying I just did normal tourist people stuff.
