Civil War Cave West Of Arkadelphia, Ark
Civil War Cave West Of Arkadelphia, Ark
Anyone know about a small crevice cave approx. 12 mi. west of Arkadelphia, Ark. along Bell Creek? I was told about it years ago and that it was used by locals to hide in during the Civil War. Google Earth shows a road "Cave Trail" that leads down to Bell Creek. Thanks for any info. you can provide.

you will probably have to go to the county historical museum assuming there is one and ask the staff if they know anything. Or get down to it and scout the area of the cave trail if allowed to. Be aware that a lot of these things are not recorded and passed down generation to generation, so they very well could have lost a specific location.
Also did anyone figure out what happened to the Dover record cave?

Located this small cave last month. It's also known as Bear Cave to locals. Cave splits left and right and narrows down to crawl spaces which I'm too old to enter. Appears to me someone filled crawl spaces with dirt to keep people out. Also, I didn't want to come face to face with a big wooley critter!!![/img]
