Across the street from Ray-Pec's middle school, there is an abandoned mansion. Literally, three stories tall and six garages. I'd seen this while driving by many times before, but I never went around to going in until just recently. There is also a stable barn adjacent to the house.
I figured I'd share some pictures. It was definitely worth the drive!
From what I understand, a doctor had this home built for him and his wife in the 80's. However, their marriage fell through and neither wanted the home (why I have NO IDEA). Ever since, It has just been rotting away in the elements.
Anyways, When a friend of mine and I got there I was afraid we could be seen from the highway, so we kept low to the ground as we approached the backside of the house. After I scoped out the exterior, we crawled through the crack in the boards seen in the below photos. We explored around a bit, and towards the end we kept hearing noises. At one point we heard a cabinet door slam from a different room in the house, so we left. Looking back, I'm assuming there were transients somewhere inside the house.
The barn, which further supports my idea hobos live there, was exactly what it sounds like: a barn with stables and a few beaten- up rooms. In the loft, there was a ladder that climbs up to a small tower in the roof. As I went to climb up it, my friend and I both heard snoring from the tower and as I peered into the top I saw a foot dangling. Needless to say, we got out of there pretty quickly.
It's an absolutely astounding place, I highly recommend visiting the home, but be cautious of the busy road nearby! One can only imagine how extravagant the building was before it was left to rot.

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Big house but overall had a cheap feel to it - like it was built quickly using cheap materials.
The garage was the most impressive, with stables. It could be a hobby/mancave dream space.
