Your Equipment: Post

Post by Sparkle »

I was curious if you guys/gals would psot a lsit of the equipment you use, or have for Urban Exploration.

I havent been UE'ing or Infiltrating for very long so I do not have a large supply/equipment list but here it goes:

Normal Stuff
3- 8" 4 LED FLashlights
2- Military L Shaped Flashlights
1- Military Issued Canoflague Rainsuit (courtesy of Mark)
1- 2 Cell Mag "style" FLash Light
1- Cell Phone. Most the time I don't have service, but it never hurts to use in case.

Misc.
1- Candle (used in a cave to mark the entrance because we had weak flash lights)
1- Zippo Lighter (not the smartest choice of light, but works when needed)
2- Chest High Waders (buy when needed/then return) :roll:
#- Spare black tshirts (in case of wet/dirty, extra needed)
1- Electrical Tape (used to cover reflective parts on shoes)
#- Spare Batterys/Bulbs for the flashlights.

I have a pair of old shoes/boots as well but those get used for work mostly..and random exploring. :D Not awhole lot of stuff is taken with me, jsut what I plan on using. The list will grow w/ experience and time though!

Your Turn!

I keep two backpacks in my toolbox. One has a hardhat, two pairs of gloves, a 2-D Maglite and a 2-AA Maglite, and some stray batteries. I also keep wetnaps and a small first aid kit on me most of the time, and some spare bulbs. The other pack's just a lot of spares, and it rarely leaves the truck. I've also learned to bring a duffel bag full of old clothes and towels along for cave trips, along with some worn out shoes.

I carry....
Helmet with Rayovac 3 in 1 light mounted on it
1 4D mag
1 2AA mag
Steel toe antislip knee waders
Mechanic's gloves
Knee pads
Spare batteries
First aid kit, with snake bite kit
HP Photosmart 735 camera
More spare batteries
Camel Lights in a soft pack and 187 Ml. bottle of wine
(for pre trip nerves) Merlot.... of course
Candy bar (e.g. Mr. Goodbar)
Canteen
Gerber multi tool
And depending on conditions
Resperator P-100
Goggles
Flightsuit (for the down and dirty)
Really cheap Million C.P. spotlight
2-way radios
Most of this stuff lives in the trunk of my car in a milk crate. I don't use even a third of it on most trips, but it is there just incase.

My gear (although not all at the same time usually):

Coveralls
Rubber over-the-shoe boots
Large Mag-lite
Smaller flashlight with wrist-loop
Gloves
Sony Digital Camera
Cell Phone
50ft. of rope (Charlie Bronson's always got rope)
Multi-tool and/or folding pocketknife
Whatever else we pick up on the traditional pre-UE wal-mart trip

I'll probably pick up some more gear when I get back in town, which is hopefully next March. I'm stationed in Hawaii for now. Not much UE action out here unfortunately...

Dude, I'd be sneaking into all those ritzy resorts and hotels if I were there. I'd be mooching five star style.

What about drains? Doesn't it rain a lot out there?

My wife and I actually have snuck into a couple of the nicer hotels out here and done a little exploring. As for drains, unfortunately most of them in Honolulu are locked down pretty tight as far as I can tell. I've searched the net for any mention of UE out here and I found nothing. If you know of anything I don't I'd certainly be grateful.

If you mean what do we regularly go exploring with l'd say

* LED torch
* manhole key
* beer (cause we all like a beer :wink: )

but if your asking what else we also carry you would probably find if we didn't know a location

* CB's/scanners
* mobiles
* keys of all sorts and sizes
* our local known.doc (a list of all our known locations)
* more beer
* inflatable boats
* fluro vests
* hardhats
* hacky sacks to play with if we get caight and can bullshit our way out of it!
* cameras galore
* leatherman
* abseiling gear if need be
* big fuck off torches 1-10 milliion power! yikes!
eeerrr alright run out of steam now.

and see l am not joking!
