The last scene in the Youtube video it looks like they may have removed that old refrigeration compressor.

EDIT: Nevermind. It was on the other side of the wall.

Nope, the steam engine was right in the middle of that room at 3:30.

For that camera to be that high, they were either on the Steam Dynamo (the smaller motor next to the main Steam Engine) or they had it mounted on a tripod. But from that POV, it almost looks like they would have been right on top of the dynamo.

RIP Armour. April 4th 2015 my friend and I did our first urban exploring. It was a Saturday morning. We started with Armour, and then concluded the day with Cementland.

Thanks to BagHead for the tips on how to get into Armour. It was a remarkable way to kick off her first urbex experience.

I'll never forget these still places, forgotten by time.

John is actually still on the stockyards payroll. If the stockyard no longer owns it, I assume he's out of a job. Maybe he has a pension..
John B worked in the next building over. He's been there for years and as of late with all the changes his areas of "care" have become smaller and smaller. He was originally a worker of the stock yards and kept as a maintenance personnel once the businesses packed up and moved. The red brick building with the post office still stands so I'm sure there will be minor things for him to still maintain. Although, he is of the age of retirement I'm sure he continues to work to remain active in some sense of the word. Not to mention the ego trip of chasing young punks off the property! If he was met in a normal setting (not chasing you off for trespassing) he was actually a pretty nice guy. I digress.

Very sad to see this place go. Lots of older industrialized buildings of ESTL have been coming down in the recent years. While it does help in revitalizing the East Side, it is a bitter sweet time. Truly sad to see this iconic piece of history succumb to the progressive movement of modernization. RIP Armour....sleep well.

Ha ha
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

“That’s not the point. The point is, who will stop me?”
