When we were leaving she drew 5 point stars in the dust on our windows as "bad spirit protection" and Mindwaave was like, "I think your bullets shall provide us with more protection."

Yeah, Jake had them open the skylight and we were like can we go up too? And he was like, "Sure!"

Opportunity knocked and we kicked the door open. 8)

Did they say anything about Red Skelton beginning his career on this boat during the tour? I don't remember but I admittedly have a hard time listening to people during stuff like that. Lol. Anyway, according to Wiki, he was apparently a dockhand and filled in one night for an ill performer.

So sad. I wish I had gotten the chance to have seen it in its better days.

Sounds like they tried moving it for some dumb reason and caused the damage themselves. Nice.

Very sad to hear this news. I know how passionate the caretakers were to restore this boat. I'm glad I got the chance to tour the boat a few months back.

They did seem very passionate about it. But why move it the way they did?

I saw the play of "A Christmas Carol" on the Goldenrod way back in middle school. I'm not much for plays/theater but it was pretty awesome. And I went with a bunch of these peeps on a tour of it and it was also pretty awesome. Glad to have experienced both. Definitely sad to see the end is nigh.

I'm pretty sure they were moving it because they wanted it to be in a safer location. It sucks that their good intentions took a turn for the worst.
I had the pleasure of taking my high school senior pictures on the boat and my classmates were pretty jealous. This boat will always hold a place in my heart.

According to the article, they moved it while the waters were flooding. Then the water level dropped faster after the flood then they expected and they didn't get the moorings adjusted in time. It settled unevenly on the bottom and the uneven pressure caused the hull supports to break, if not the hull itself.
