Train Hopping and Hitchhiking Memoir

Post by Zanahoria »

Hey, I just stumbled on this train hopping memoir on amazon, which I think is pretty new-

http://www.amazon.com/Thousand-Miles-Fr ... B00AXPRA8M

you can only read it on kindle or on your computer, unfortunately, but my parents just got me a kindle so it worked for me. I liked the memoir, it was like a vacation from my life, which is kind of boring right now. I haven't hopped freight trains but I really want to- has anyone else ridden trains? And if so, what did you think of this memoir?

You should pm The Count, he seems to have an interest in it as does Panic!.

Welcome to the forum btw.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Havent read this, though I have read through several online accounts and they seem super fun. I have hopped a few trains before, and we discuss all that here http://www.undergroundozarks.com/forum/ ... php?t=6829

Forum member Chris knows all kinds of things about trains and stuff. I thoroughly enjoy train spotting and hopping but don't have the in depth knowledge I'd like to have about a lot of the operational systems, signals, signage, etc. Sniff around on here, you'd probably find some things interesting.

I hop trains quite a bit, I fuckin love it, I know a lot about trains too, loved them ever since I was a baby, used to play with them when I was little, now I'm older so I play with the real trains.
