National Candy Company Factory
RE: National Candy Company Factory
There are some bats living in there. I thought one was dead so I poked it lightly and it turned to look at me and screeched. Sorry, bat..

The roof is awesome there. Don't miss it.
Why did Lucy fall off the swing set? She had no arms. Knock knock. Who's there? NOT LUCY

The building on the opposite side of gravios is an easy in next to the resale shop.
When I was there a group jumped the fence and were skating boarding over there.

Re: National Candy Company Factory
Made a visit with MonkeyKing recently. It's sealed up pretty well but definitely still accessible.
RE: National Candy Company Factory
I'm around this place every Sunday and I'd love to check it out, but I can't seem to locate an entry point that wouldn't involve a crowbar. Would anyone have any suggestion of places around the building I should be looking at for a way in?
RE: National Candy Company Factory
The only times I've tried getting in here it was wide open, but I guess it's hit or miss. Have you done a perimeter check, trying all doors and looking for points of access?
RE: National Candy Company Factory
I've covered most of it from the Bingham Park side. The places mentioned earlier in the thread, but they're either gated or have iron bars up now. There were some guys in their late teens/early 20's running around there a few weekends ago. So there's still some way in. I'll spend some time around there this Sunday looking around the west and northern sides.

I know they welded the door I exited out of last time and a new lock and chain on the side gate. I noticed that a few months ago.

I Pm'd you some info. I went in October and got in no problem.
Re: National Candy Company Factory
Hey pepster (or anyone), been there lately? Or at all since U haul has started using it somehow? I drive by this place way too often, have even circled for fun in my car but no on foot yet...
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: National Candy Company Factory
Nah I haven't been out exploring in quite a while. But if you didn't get in yet you aren't missing much, more or less just a big empty building. The roof is really cool though.

Went by with some friends and and everything looked pretty well secured. Uhual seemed to have some shit out back so we didn't want to mess with their stuff.
RE: National Candy Company Factory
I've done a full circle of this place more than a few times.
From what I've seen, the only way I've seen to get in without breaking and entering is squeezing in between a gap in the fence right by where they park all the U-Haul trucks. I'd rather not mess with their operation.
I'm bummed, my great aunts used to work here! Been wanting to see the inside + roof of this place for ages. Such a n amazing old building perched on a weird south city hill.
