Abandoned house in Fenton

Post by ncortivo »

I came across this house at the top of the Gravois Bluffs its an old house and a big house but kids came and tore it up bad its really cool though. There is also an old swimming pool there too. the grounds are big and its only house up there. if anyone knows anything about it please let me know. the pic from bing is older but its all abandoned and overgrown now. It was built in the 1930s so its pretty old.

Property records show it's owned by someone in Maryland. The home was built in 1931. I don't know that it has any other real history; just an old home.

ncortivo, any idea how heavily it's monitored? I wouldn't expect much, but I've been wrong about estimating risk before.
Preservation over plunder.

I dont know how well its monitored theres a wood sign on window that says cameras installed i looked pretty well and didnt see anything theres no power going to house i dont think anymore i've been up there a few times the last was yesterday and i thourghly looked around its old but again badly vandalized. someone has been there recently because the first time i went was two days before i went yesterday and there was a few things moved around. I'm guessing its kids who are going up there. If it wasnt too vandalized it would be a really cool house to have. Since all windows are busted out rain and moisture has gotten in and caused severe mold in basement i had to wear my gas mask. if anyone wants to check it out with me let me know.

Gas mask, Smasck Mask.

I'm just kidding. Just because I'm a dumb ass doesn't mean others have to be :) I stayed in a moldy basement when I was a kid so I guess I'm immune or some shit because it doesn't bother me.

Went and got some pics of it today. It was awesome! I love the fact that you can drive right up to it. No one messed with us, although a van went up the street to what I guess is another house up there. The windows looked like they were newer, which confused me a little. I can't believe there's a freaking sauna in the basement! The place was honestly in a lot better shape then I thought it would be. I've been in a lot worse. The second floor was a bit sketchy though. Unfortunately, none of the shots of the whole upstairs turned out because it was beautiful! I loved all the wood.
