wildlife
So what have you come across while exploring? I've seen owls and plenty of turkey and deer.
But what about bobcats? Mountain lion? Elk, I guess the mdc releases some into Missouri a year ago. Hogs, I've got a friend who's shot a bunch down by saddlebrook

I have seen deer (several), bats, ticks (they seem to be bad this year), turkey, skunk, and a bear.

Bobcat once. Raccoons. Opossums. Black rat snakes engaged in coitus.

I slid down into an abandoned mine of zero mountain (My friends nominated me since I had a cyclops spotlight.). I turn my light on in time to see two vultures flying straight at me. I deflected them off the cyclops . I read once where vultures vomit their stomach contents in order to take flight quickly in dangerous situations. Thankfully they didn't do it in this case.

RE: wildlife
No Chupacabra actually.
But definitely bats. Falstaff has always had a bunch of bats living in the cellars.

My dad and I was trying to find an old cave near our property in SEMO, and came spooked up two wild boars.... luckily enough we were able to climb up a near by deer stand.

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

In all seriousness, I've run across a few snakes.

tiny cave arthropods, growling wild dogs, copperheads, disembodied catfish heads, many other dead things, thousands of pigeons, zombie-like mutants, loud snarling wildcat sounds form the depths of a storm drain..and Willard's mom with Sublunar's thumb in tow.

RE: wildlife
Deer, fox, turkey, a few stray dogs and cats, rats and mice, bats, racoons, birds (including eagles), snakes, ticks, frogs, and once I saw a coyote running around by Creve Coeur Lake. I was just driving around, not exploring really, but it still surprised me.
Also like Redox said, lots of dead fish and stuff.

Found this dog once while walking the RR tracks, and it was in between the rails. Everything was intact, except everything from the ears to the snout was gone. Straight up had no face. And the skin had collapsed over it so it looked like it just never had a face.
Sub and I have had great experiences with pigeons.
