I found a crazy little shrine today. I'm not going to publicly post the place, because as we know, some people have no respect and would possibly steal this stuff. I'm not sure how old it is, but there were A LOT of crazy things there, including some broken pottery and gemstones. It almost looked Indian-ish, but too new I think. You are about to see a lot of my hand! Laughing

What the trail looks like:

There were also a lot of mushrooms in the area. No morels that I saw, but I think it's too late for that..

....and one crazy ass tree!! That is an old fence post I think, and there is actually what looks like a branch shoved in that hole, and the tree grew around it.

Looks like some new age witchcraft stuff there.

Was there a circle of any sort around the shrine? Typically, the altar would be in the center and certain items places in a circle around it, or at least at the four cardinal points.

The roots and a few limbs kind of made a circle I guess. You're probably right. I didn't even think about that. I just thought it was a memorial of some sort.

I've come across some elaborate altars in the woods before. I don't know for sure that's what you found, but I am familiar enough with the topic to recognize the ones I've found. Wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah that's the first one I've seen so I had no idea. It surprised the hell out of me. Now I don't feel so bad for rooting through it Laughing

The clear crystal with purple and green bands in it is quartz with fluorite. I have one of those too, from when I used to collect rocks, not wizardcraftry.

While I do somewhat agree and I more then likely wont go back and take anything, it is in a public conservation area right off the trail. If it were to happen their dumbasses deserve it. I'm sure things have already been taken.

Well I guess the only good thing out of this post is I've identified this for someone else who may get excited over nothing like I did. Laughing

I should have known better because of the rings.

I say you take the loot and systematically destroy the shrine. Walk around it counter clockwise three times, drive a sharpened iron spike into the pile, scatter the rocks. Leave a bunch of sharpened three pointed cedar prongs driven into the ground where they'll step on them for good measure.

Mandi, did you turn Brouser into a newt? Of course I don't blame you since he did do the hat and the nose... But wait... do you have a wart???

If that's the case we'll have to see if your made of wood. In which case we could throw you into the bog and see if you float... But then again... pebles, very small rocks, churches... all float on water... I guess... I don't know anymore... I think I have a job to go to or something.
