At the end of Hawkins-Fuchs Rd, there is a weird, big green thing. You can clearly see it from I-55 northbound, just east of the highway on the river.
WTF is it? |

| Good question. Bing maps shows a truck parked there in one angle. The road getting there looks interesting too. At first I was going to guess intakes or something, but the fenced in areas and decks looks like a fish breeding building or something. Very interesting. |

It's Godzilla. Yeah only logical answer I could come up with without a pic or a map. _________________

I'm 99% sure that the structure in question is the surface water intake for Missouri American's Lower Meramec River installation.
Tom M.
EDIT - after searching for a while, I confirmed that the structure IS the water intake for the plant, located just up Hawkins Road. The plant's actual address is 4194 Meramec Bottom Rd., St. Louis, MO 63129. |
