Rooftop Conquests - How many can YOU claim?

Post by Sertile »

I've had the climbing bug lately, and I can't shake the urge to mount every roof in sight! It's an addition I tells ya! So, I've put down a list of all the rooves I've currently conquered.

Note: I'm only including the ones I wasn't "supposed" to be on, or were at least took some effort to surmount.

Glass Hall - SMS
Karl's Hall - SMS
Power House - SMS
Kemper Hall - SMS
Meyer Library - SMS
Oberman Building
Heers Building
MFA Building 1
MFA Building 2 (Tower)
Lipscomb Feed/Houn' Dawg
Budweiser/Messiah Tower 1 (Big)
Budweiser/Messiah Tower 2 (Little)
Springfield Paper Co.
Campbell St. Fireman's Tower
Sterling Hotel?
Original Parking Garage
and
The Landmark Building

I included the one parking garage just because it had a tangible roof that had to be climbed up onto. I'm not considering the top tier of the SMSU parking garage or the one across from Hammon's field a "roof," officially. I'm also not counting things like shacks or sheds that are only one story. Obviously I need help with a couple of the names here.

So, who else wants to play? Show me your lists!!

The Landmark or Land Bank building... the Landmark is the old Frisco Building at Jefferson and Olive, the Land Bank building is the old Busy Bee Building that has the first floor all gutted at Campbell and College.

When I was 10 or 11 my dad left the ladder outside and we climbed on the roof of my moms house. Does that count? :D
I went over to the dark side, but just to pick up a few things.

Hey I have been to the top of the St Louis Arch --if that counts--I think what would be cool is if they would let you walk up the inside steps but they dont, also how about being the guy who goes out on top and changes the red beacon which is 630 feet up it would be a great view of the ball park and river frount

Hrm... I'm afraid to do this, because I know I'm going to forget some. But I actually don't have that many anyway, I don't think.

St. John's
Lipscomb Feed
Mountain Inn
Hotel Seville
Springfield Paper Co.
MFA 1
MFA 2
Heer's
Messiah Project (tall one)
Oberman
My high school

I know there's more than that, especially from when I was younger and we used to climb buildings in the towns we lived around. It bums me out that I can't claim any of the buildings at SMS, though. Gonna have to fix that.

And actually, back when the site had sections, I almost put up a rooftops section just to showcase all the rooftops I'd conquered :P

I've been to the eiffel tower in Paris. Well... Paris Tennessee... and you couldn't climb to the top because it was only a model maybe 25 feet tall. So may that doesn't count.

I don't think I've really conquerored any rooftops. I was on a rooftop here on campus when I probably shouldn't have been. My boss's boss found out and called me on my radio while I was up there. I had to make up something real quick. But they, they gave me a key to the stupid place.

I can claim a LOT of Springfield buildings but not in the way most of you all do.

Has anyone been to the top of the silos in Broadway and Commerial? The one were two sit on one side of the rail spur and two on the other with a skywalk across .

And here I always thought that was pigeon poo on those roofs.

theres scary things when you reach the top  Beasties, and monsters.....

I just hate heights... Even if i stand on a chair i hate it... Ill be at a mall with two levels, and I cant look over the rail without feeling woozy... Heights just scare the hell out of me.
