Yup. Stood on top with one foot and did a double back with full twist dismount into the lake, wetting the bloomers of fine damsels not with lake water, but with excitement and arousal.

Interesting....If you look at the Compton Dry Map for St. Louis, this looks almost exactly like the map does if you were looking to the north from the edge of the property designated as English Cave.
It give a better Idea just where the cave opening was located on the Compton Dry Map...which as far as I can tell, doesn't show it.

Although, by doing some research over the years, I'm pretty confident I know exactly where the original entrance is.

The original entrance is marked on one of the old maps. But it has been filled in/covered over since the early 1900's.

The only way to access it would be for the present owner of the property to allow someone with a backhoe or other digging equipment to dig open the original entrance.

Although, it may not be filled all that deep. May be just enough to cover the entrance to access.

But.....it is clearly marked on one of the old maps, and supported by the documentation provided in "Lost Caves of St. Louis".

I'm thinking about writing/contacting the owner of the property and seeing if hey know anything about it.
