I didnt think it was possible to mine coal in the middle of the ocean.

I wonder if the tunnels ran under the island and then under the sea or what?
We are all just sloguns waiting to have our triggers pulled.

Probably so, there have been lots of mines out under water bodies. Ohio has some bigass salt mines out under one of the Great Lakes, Downtown Detroit has hella mines under it (active), and there were hundreds of miles of gold mines under the ocean in Juneau, AK (until they fucked up and got too close to the sea floor).

there are a bunch of old lead mines under what was Flat River now it is called Park hills but the town was basically sitting on top of a big mine

They've shown video of this place on History channel's show "Life After People." Cool stuff.
