Small Abandoned Fish Hatchery

Post by slow_walker »

Okay, I don't really know much about this. It's on a backroad off of Hwy 37 as you're coming into Seligman from the north. I had seen it a million times before and just thought it was a weird concrete thing. But this weekend I was with my parents and we were "on a drive" just looking for deer, etc. and we passed this place and for the first time ever I asked them what it was.

Turns out (according to my parents) that it was a fish hatchery owned and operated by "ole Doc Brown." I'm unable to find any info about Doc Brown on the internet, but I do have a Seligman history book at home that I will look through this week and see if I can find some more info.

I do know it's spring fed. The spring is behind a concrete wall in the lower left hand corner of the "L" shape.

Coolness.

With the water looking like that, I'd say no.
