Hmm, I wonder why they built that tunnel? I guess to get across the street, but they usually build bridges... Looks cool though, like a subway entrance or something.

We have a few in Springfield, one is under Campbell Ave. near Sunset St. for the Greenway trail and the other is over at Missouri State University under Grand St. just west of National Ave.

I've also seen one in El Reno, Okla. It's on old US 66. It was built by the WPA. I'm guessing the one in El Reno was built because of the heavy traffic that used to be on that street back when it was the main highway.

There is/was one going under Charles Page Blvd in West Tulsa. I can't remember exactly where it is. I think it's near a school over there, but I think the school was closed down, that's why they closed the tunnel.

I know exactly what your talking about. Its in Sand Springs. The school is abandoned and has been for a long time. There are many pictures of it on the web. I saw that tunnel entrance, its right in front of the school. I always wondered what it was, but never checked it out though. Although, the strange thing is, I dont where the other side is, the steps go down on the south side of the road, but I havent been able to find where they come back up on the other side of the road. Odd...

They might have filled it in. I remember it being right across the street from the school. I haven't been by there in a long time, I might have to go check it out.

There are three on South Creek trail: Under Scenic, under Golden, and under Campbell. There's also one under Grand by MSU, if we're counting tunnels under roads.
