Abandoned Industrial Buildings in West Tulsa

Post by Fiend »

I drove by these buildings several times in the past and never noticed them until last year in the winter when the vegitation had died off. I drove by and saw all these old buildings hidden by a few trees, and promised myself I would explore them one day. Well, about a month ago I did. One of the buildings is an old house, built in the 20's by my estimate, and it looks like the other buildings could be from the same time. As you can see from the aerial photo, it looks like there was once a street that went between the buildings, probably a city street at one time. Part of the property is still in use by a company, but most of it is completely abandoned. Its surrounded by a barbed wired fence, but someone had conveinantly cut a large hole in the fence which I was able to gain access through. I'm not sure what these building were used for, there used to be all sorts of industies on the west side back in the day. The only hint as to what they were was a chemical warning on the fence, didnt stop me though, and I didnt come accross anything remotely toxic. Doesnt look like many people have ventured into this place, but it looks like some druggies and bumbs had been there before. I managed to snap some photos before my friend that was with me said he felt like someone was watching us. I have to admit, even in broad daylight, that place gave me the heeby jeebies, like something bad happened there... So, we left, but I didnt get the chance to explore all the buildings. I plan on going back soon.
