Vichy, MO Outlaws
Vichy, MO Outlaws
Does anyone know anything about a group of outlaws caught up with in late 1800's or eary 1900's just outside of Vichy actually closer to Vichy Y cafe. The story goes they used to water horses and hid in the area that my family owns. Eventually they were caught and shot on the spot and buried on the hill on our property. The name plates odf them are still there to this day so I do have their names (first only) I can't seen to find any info on this but was told about this years ago by a local old lady. The grves are there for sure i have been there many times. It's up the road from spring creek brige about 3 miles or just east od the Vichy Y cafe about a mile then back in the woods but I still have some access to the place. Any info would help. Thanks

Never heard anything about it. The restaurant is called the Vichy Wye however.

The graves are located on our property a good distance back in the woods. I think there were about seven of them they shot. They have kinda odd names but they may be their nicknames or something. I keep reaching a dead end on this but the graves are definatly there with the names. the story says they shot the horses too and sure enough over further are more flowere that come up every year supposedly planted by their relatives years ago.

I have done a bit of research on Vichy today and I'm having trouble finding anything. Maybe if I knew the names that were on the gravestones I could come up with a story?
Re: Vichy, MO Outlaws
So what kind of markers do these graves have?

they are made of tin and about the size of those small licence plates that kids used to put on their bikes. The names are punched in the tin not all the way through. Kinda like it was done with an iron punch and a hammer. They are attached and stuck in the ground with iron rods.
