Holy cow. Let's try this one again, folks, and let me clear up some misconceptions right from the start.
It's not a cave.
The place where they have the campout is several hundred yards inside a gigantic limestone mine. I mean, gigantic. Several football fields in size. They used to routinely drive dumptrucks around in there.
There are a handful of bats that live in there, but I'm pretty sure the fire will not cause a problem with them whatsoever (and hasn't in the past). The mine is extremely well-ventilated.
In fact, mines like that are designed to be self-ventilating, because they set off explosives inside and the gasses need to be able to vent.

Hi, I'm Willard and I like to explore stuff... and stuff... yeah...
Okay so I'd like to possibly go but a few things stopping me... one I don't have the money to go to St. Louis. Another reason DeeDee and I only have one vehical between us and I'm the one who can drive. Another reason is I don't think I have proper gear for camping anywhere anymore... Or anyway gear I want to get dirty.

i'd really like to meet some of you guys and i <3 camping. i never thought i would considering i'm a bit of a city girl... but after horn island.. 8 day on an island in a tent no power, no bathroom, no nothing (there was a few building ruins on the island and a beached buie) but i will bring a friggin air matress next time..
