What're those discolored parts of developed film called? What causes them? Those film shots of yours from Armour turned out pretty neat!

my guess would be that the film had some extra light exposure before the film was developed...poignant effect.

This.

I believe those specific lights and colors were from the server rack at my workplace, consisting of Dell servers, Cisco switches and other blinky lights. The dark room I opened my camera in to inspect my technical difficulties was in fact the server room since it was the darkest room available to me at the time. My film winder malfunctioned and the film broke off from the canister and was left wrapped around the internal winding mechanism.

Generically they're referred to as "light leaks" and they happen when light gets to the film where it's not supposed to. Normally this is caused by the back of the camera not sealing properly but I think my (40 year old) camera seals are ok.

Kids these days! So used to their digitals they don't even know what over-exposure looks like!
