The brick factory had tracks running all over inside and a few of these train cart looking things sitting on them.

That's awesome. Stayed in the building next door during my last visit there, which was far too long ago. Wish I could have made it this time.

Man, that makes me want to seek out more rooftops around here. We've done plenty but not as a destination, more as a "well we're inside here let's see the roof".

I agree. This place that you got us a tour into was pretty beautiful. I also didn't notice those ornaments ontop of the airplane's fins before, cool picture!

That pic is fucking awesome.

But lest this tour besmirch my good name, let the records show that we cracked that location in 2008 when it still had active motion sensors and alarms. The way in back then required walking directly in front of the motion sensors. This experience taught us that the way motion sensors operate is in 2 phases. This kind lights up when it detects movement. As long as you freeze until the light goes back out, you're golden. If you keep moving after it lights up, then the alarm is tripped. I've seen other motion sensors operate in this way as well. So you just had to walk real slow and stop moving when it lit up. We were in there many times before and after the tour. I got the tour lined up because I wanted to see if the place was still alarmed. We learned it wasn't and promptly returned without having to worry about pesky alarms. There used to be motion sensors all over the ground floor.

Now it's back under redevelopment and the old way in has been secured. And they've even started painting the main hall and doing a rather shitty job of it from what I've seen so far. Hopefully the finished product looks better..

I probably have a shot from the ground floor to more accurately give a then current comparison, but I don't feel like going through the effort of digging it up now.
