| The "weird old abandonment with rock walls" - from what I remember hearing as a kid this was a resort/motel type place many many years ago, there was at least 1 pool and various buildings with the rock wall around it and walkways throughout, I remember when I was a kid thinking it was kinda cool but the years of neglect and floods had pretty much destroyed it the last time I saw it. The "nasty old bar" has been just about everything over the years, the first thing I can remember it being was a car dealership but I don't remember what brand. Maybe someone else can add more! |

The weird rock-walled abandonment does look like it could be an old resort. It's fascinated me since I was a kid. There's some stuff built into the bluff behind it made of rock. I'm curious if this is where the cave is. _________________ I have a 7.62x54R problem. |

if you live close or have nothing else to do why not. And depending on gas prices is it worth the drive.

Looking at the map again......seems I remember hearing about a quarry or mine or concrete plant or some such (I'm getting old, can't remember clearly) down Sulphur Springs Road......the early posts said on the right side of 67 when heading South, but could be whoever gave those directions had something backwards???........just a thought. |

Bump! I'm gonna go have a look around there tomorrow afternoon...weather permitting. That wooded area is pretty big. Anyone have anymore info on this topic? I'll post if I find anything cool. _________________
