You know i have been pissed off for years that I grew up so close to the park and never once got to go. So the other day out of the blue my mom was telling me a story about one of the many times she went to dogpatch in her twenties. I started mouthing her about why she never took me so she went stomping off into her bedroom and after about 15 minutes came out with a picture of me at Dogpatch.

So I guess I was wrong this whole time - I have been to dogpatch. I was 3 months old. What a great momma to take her kid to enjoy an amusement park at 3 months old.

We took my son to Disney World when he was about a year old. Maybe we can afford to take him again before he graduates college.

well even if he never remembers it, at 1 years old he was still old enough to get some visual stimulation out of the trip. I'm sure he had fun while he was there.
Somehow, I doubt I really enjoyed myself. :(

Donald Duck scared him. He may not want to go back. There's something about a five foot tall duck in a sailor's suit that tapped into something in his subconscious racial memory that terrified him, I think. Maybe in a past life he lived in a society oppressed by cruel, massive, telepathic waterfowl in mariner garb, a la the Mahars in Burroughs' .At the Earth's Core.

Some kids are scared of ducks. I used to have this reoccuring(sp?) dream about these vampire ducks. Scary stuff.

Any way Dogpatch was awesome. We went there every summer. I can't say what the draw was, but I loved it. :D

I'll get some updated pictures. I have many pictures that I have taken throughout the progress but I have not snapped any in about two months. Needless to say, the ones that haven't seen it lately are going to be absolutely blown away!

I'm thinkin if I get bored this weekend, it doesn't rain too much, and gas prices don't hit $3/gallon, maybe i'll go out there.

You'll need to be escorted by the groundskeeper there, if he is there. Depending on what's going on it's not a guaranteed viewing either, we have a lot of construction. We're actually having to prosecute people at this point because of the activity.

I'll be going there today to get these updated pictures for everyone. Granted nothing like weather or unexpected things pop into my way.
