So who's bought it recently? Know what's happening with the place?

Actually, no. I only know what everyone here on the boards knows, that some major cleanup has been done. I've been a little out of the loop recently.

It seems like a rather worn-out topic, but has anyone visited the place and had permission lately? I was thinking about maybe planning a trip there with a few photographer friends to wander the place and capture a few shots of the old park and I'd rather get permission. I'd hate to waste a trip there for nothing.

Since there's been so much interest in Dogpatch on the boards, I thought you guys might like to see this bit of news...

apparently there was a popular statue in Dogpatch named General Cornpone and since everything was left to ruin people have wondered what happened to some of the stuff that used to be there. Bute General Cornpone has survived and was recently spotted behind "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" on the Shepherd Of The Hills Expressway in Branson, MO

If this is old news to you guys, I apologize

Yeah, the news is quite old. We pulled it out of the park a while back because we didn't want whoever tried to take it the first time to have a successful second attempt. We had talked with several people about redoing the hand & sword, however there has not been any progress made.

According to the latest story in the Harrison Daily Times (3/30), a worker at the park has said the site will be used for an artist's colony and that some of the restored buildings have been bought. But the realtor responsible for the property is unaware of those plans. I will say that the park has been drastically cleaned up. Just an update.

See, having met williard took the joy out of this post. I want to imagine a 80 year old guy sitting in his rocking chair, typing on his computer muttering about hippies. But no, now that I know what Williard looks like, the magic is gone.

No buildings have been sold but we have recieved alot of interest for possible leases for the buildings. Details are still being worked out on what we will do with the old park and future plans are still not 100% concrete.

The whole thing just fascinates me! I still can't get over how the place looked a year ago, and how much better it looks today. I wonder how much business it would bring by just advertising it as "Dogpatch"?

I know that after it opens I will visit it at some point, just because I want to see how it looks now and I would love to show my kids.
