Heers
Heers
After a quick drive through springfield, one of the buildings that caught my eye quickly was the Heers tower. I later learned that it might be motion alarmed, and was wondering if anyone has any details on it.
Knowing that its being renovated makes me want to see it before its totally commercialised over . If it has motion detectors/cameras, its prolly a no go for me, unless I had someone else more expierenced with me, but if its decently safe I would like to check it out sometime.
Anyways, any of you guys that have gone up it have any photos I could see? That has to be the best view for miles around.

Right now, there are supposedly motion detectors inside the building. I don't know that for certain, but we do know of someone who recently got busted there big time and he thinks that might have been what got him caught. Even if there aren't any, it seems like they're watching it a LOT more closely than when we were checking it out.
As for pictures, Heer's should be the very next thing I add to the site. I've just got to confer with Willard and get some cool stuff to add with my pictures.

Yeah, I wouldn't explore Heers unless you wanted to get caught. I've heard from two people that cops are watching that place. One of my friend's got busted for going in there. It's such a great place though. It's "almost" worth the risk.
I've been in there like six times and it was AWESOME..but that was before all this recient stuff.

I would say, it would be amazing to see the city from the top. I prollyjust have to accept that I saw it too late . I do however, have a unique idea for entering the place if I ever decide to lol.

I got to see it from the very top of the tower. I have pictures from up there that will be in the Heer's gallery when it goes up. It was awesome. Someone had tied several pairs of underwear to the flagpole up there, too.Redknight wrote:I would say, it would be amazing to see the city from the top. Let me guess... thinking about crawling up one of those pipe things? Don't worry, I consider the same thing every time I pass a renovated building.I do however, have a unique idea for entering the place if I ever decide to lol.

Knowing the construction in Springfield, it would break while you're halfway up. Then you would just be stuck with you're butt hanging out of a pipe while the Downtown Police laugh and make bets on which end will land up.Redknight wrote:Nailed it, right now theres one that is only 2 stories or so off the ground, and it empties into a dumpster so thers cover . I wonder if theyre strong enough to hold though.

RE: Heers
I am very interested in seeing the pictures you are going to be adding. Do you have any idea how much longer it will be before they are in the gallery?
Re: Heers
Yeah WR, just go ahead and add the pictures. If Willard has problems with it tell him to talk to me. I can handle it.

Re: RE: Heers
Actually, in the next couple weeks, I hope. I'm meeting up with Willard to get a bunch of Heer's stuff together to put on the site. Plus, Willard has an audio reel from a band playing at Heer's that Underdog's going to help us play so that we can put a little clip of it on the site. I just want the Heer's section of the site to be really big, so that's pretty much why I haven't done it yet. But it will be when I get all that done.slow_walker wrote:I am very interested in seeing the pictures you are going to be adding. And to do it right, I would think Willard would have to be involved, it would only be proper.

Re: Heers
Last I saw there were cranes around back behind Heers, where the Book Rack used to be. Not really sure what they were doing with them, though. They have been stripping the outside of the building, I noticed, especially up around the tower. There was also a fenced-off area down on the square, apparently to keep debris from taking out any pedestrians.
I had a picture of the cranes I was going to post, but it turned out pretty mediocre and I'm sure you've all seen them by now anyway.

RE: Heers
The lattice boom truck crane setting in the area were the parking garage is to be built is used to lift equipment and materials to the roofs of the building.
That is, as far as I know the only crane on the site. There are other, smaller things like a boom lift and a scissor lift or two.
Just more useless info.

Re: Heers
Okay, I went by Heers tonight and I noticed that even more of the outside walls had been stripped away. I'm worried they're going to be putting some kind of facade up on the side facing Martha's Vinyard, because I noticed some of the windows were bricked-up. It's possible they were bricked up already, though, and they just had boards over them or something.
Also, THEY TORE OUT THE FREAKIN' ESCALATORS. Was anyone else aware of this despicable development?
