Must I really rehash this subject?Violent Ray wrote:This building has been disscussed elsewhere but i was wondering if any of you had been up in there, its huge and alot of stairs, what was this building used for at one time?
Well... It was built in 1915 as Heer's Department store and remained a department store until 1995. Since then the building has been vacant. I was in there a few times in 2005 before it was gutted. A few friends if mine have been up there since the gutting too. Anyway if you want more information just do a general search on Heer's.

Re: Heer
Heers building? Wha? I've never heard of this stucture before! I demand to know why no-one has explored it or photographed it yet! GOSH!
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Yeah, V-Ray's about 52 cards short of a full deck upstairs.

Re: Heer
No, no, no, Willard. You have it all wrong. The Heer's building was originally an Aztec temple to the sun, built around 5,000 B.C. It is estimated there were at least 3,000 human sacrifices a year. After the Spanish defeated the Aztecs and stole all their gold, the temple was transformed into a Catholic church from 1612 to 1730, and then the Pilgrims moved in and opened Ye Olde Haberdashery and Whatnot Shoppe. Ok, I'm boring myself. Anyone want to pick this up and run with it?

I believe it was Dave's Disco Palace for a short while in the 70's.
