I recently purchased a copy of "Cave Maps of Missouri : Western Region" and I thought some people would like to have a copy. It includes maps in most of the counties in area 6 of this picture.
You can get all the maps from here. The file is 448 MB, and I might have time to upload smaller file later but this is all I can give you for the moment.
Oh, I forgot to mention that you might want to open the files with Microsoft office Picture Manager, Windows Photo Gallery tends to crash (at least for me) when you open the pics. _________________ Everyone else who lets me ride on their dinosaur calls me Carlos. |

Finally decided to drive up to Rolla did ya?
Unless they put out a new version, that map's off, Laclede and some of the other eastern counties in 6 aren't on the cd.
Btw, these cave maps don't show the location of the caves... for those of you dl-ing his file for that reason. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong

yeah, I was taking my sister to some camp up there and decided to make a side trip. I know some of the counties on there are not on the CD, but I do not have the case on me and I could not find the right map so I just posted a kind of general area. I did find out that there will be a new version here in a few years, it is supposed to have a lot more maps, but I am impatient so I had to grab it. _________________ Everyone else who lets me ride on their dinosaur calls me Carlos. |

What does it show, then?
I ask, as I'm downloading. |

It's a map of the inside of the cave. Not where the cave is. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong

I only have the western region also. You have to drive to rolla, mo and buy the cds from the state usgs store for... I forget how much, what are they each Curor? Like $23 - $26 each I think.
As far as I know there's no way to buy them online. Although if they don't have any when you go there to buy them, they'll mail it to you when they get some in.
Oh and there's 5 or 6 different cds for all of Mo. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong

$26.50 per CD. I have been thinking about it and if we got enough people to pool our money we could get cave maps for all of Missouri for fairly little. Is anyone interested in that? _________________ Everyone else who lets me ride on their dinosaur calls me Carlos. |

well thats 4, which is doable, but I think I need to start a thread in MO forum. I would really prefer to have twice that many people, at least. _________________ Everyone else who lets me ride on their dinosaur calls me Carlos. |

A real gem is a book published in 1956 called "Caves of Missouri (Missouri. Division of Geological Survey and Water Resources.)" It gives the latitude and longitude of most of the known caves of that time, (even the ones on private property) and a short description of what the entrance looks like as well as any dangers found at the entrance. Sometimes it includes other characteristics of the caves as well.
The book is quite rare and sells for about $200, but I have a copy ^_^
I don't know how, but I'd share it if you've got any ideas. _________________ I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose. |

Yeah they can't do that any more, it's illegal to publish that info to the general public.
I think the springfield library has a copy. _________________ Now I'll be bold, As well as strong
