our memphis trip!
i'll try to cut down to the best pics from the massive amount of pics i took this weekend... i didn't get pics from a few sites because it was EXTREMELY dark so i didn't bother trying to take pics.. plus we were in some of these buildings not so leagally so i didn't want to draw attention with a flash.
first off the sterick building
i cannot tell you how we go in but yeah..it was intresting...
(note i didn't take this exterior.. it was too dark this pic is credited to lordpook from UER)
and i know we aren't suposed to take things... but i couldn't leave this bueaty to rot...
check the date
i didn't get alot of pics because of the attention flash could have pulled but here are some from the lobby and first floor:
all hail those that came befor us
the bank!
door handles for the stair doors.. i used my head lamp as a light
next we went to the remmington factory:
the pics turned out kinda weird because it was just dark enough for my cam to want to flash but it wasn't really needed.
woodgrain still visble from the casting <3
what photoshoot isn't complete without some pinwheel
not really sure what this is >.>
aparently there is a basement here and it's TOTALLY flooded..
once again i don't know what these are but i had fun climbing in them
weird green light in this building.. it had green pannels of the ceiling just looked cool >.>
i cought someone!
colinski got to the roof!
a random macro.
i wish i knew what these were..but it looks almost religious O.o
one of my fave pics of the weekend
more flooding
metal basket orgy
fun knobby things
and i'm sure pinwheel will have her pics up soon but thanks for looking.. if you have any advise on how to stop the halo effect that i got in some pics that would be really really awesome

Re: our memphis trip!
Wow great pics pinky!
The way to not get the halo effect is to use a tripod. When your camera senses that there's not enough light it wants to use a flash. With the flash off, since there's slightly not enough light, the shutter will stay open a little longer to allow for more light to be absorbed. If you even slightly move while the shutter is open then it will cause a slight blur.
Walmart has a pretty nice tripod for 30 bucks. Keep those great pics coming!!!

Re: our memphis trip!
thanks so much guys!!!i try to explore with pinwheel about 1 time a week.. lately with illness and stuff it's been pushed back but we will be back to normal this week.
glass : i had a tripod but the trip into the site was kinda long so i didn't want to bring it (there was fences to crawl under and having to walk long distances) i'll have to strap it to my back next time.

Here are some of my better shots
The colors on this are incredibly striking
This might be the most "Artistic" photo I have ever taken

Looks like some cool stuff to see.
Great quality pics as well.
Looks like in one of those places you ran into a steel mill or something like that.
That green control panel towards the top of ur pic list is a control station for a steel mill I think.

Memphis is a pretty cool place actually.
I spent christmas day exploring the abandoned Sears headquarters and it was a blast, it was so damn big took half a day.
Did you get to do this building?
Nice local guy there too called Nat-xtron... really made such an effort for us.

We didn't, but plan to. I have a bad back and hip due to a car accident, and honestly, it was giving out by SundayNivelo wrote:Memphis is a pretty cool place actually.

RE: our memphis trip!
The last time I drove through Memphis, I was astonished by the amount of abandonded structures. It seems like entire parts of the city have just failed economically and been overrun. I'd be pretty cautious in a lot of those neighborhoods, though, but Memphis is a lot more urban than anything in Arkansas!

Re: our memphis trip!
i lived in memphis for 6 years so i know how it can be but yea there are alot of abandonded buildings but alot of them are inaccessable either because of security or visiblity.
