Haha, Maybe he just threw it until it caught on a branch, or at least a really sturdy branch. I hadn't even thought of that!Sertile wrote:And how exactly did you get it up in that tree?

My brother used to work trimming trees, so he has those spikes you put around your boots that you can basically walk up a tree with. He climbed up it with a rope, hauled the ladder up, and locked it onto a tree limb.Sertile wrote:And how exactly did you get it up in that tree?
RE: Rope Ladder
I think throwing it until it latches onto a branch is a more fun and daring way though, stupid but, could end up entertaining.

RE: Rope Ladder
So are we gonna go back to the Highway 60 caves sometime now that your ladder's done? I know you're not still wanting to leave it there permanently, but I'd like to see what's down in that other cave with my own eyes, and we need to finish working on that other ladder, too. I'd still like to go back to that cave at Winoka and check out that other shaft sometime too, while we're in the neighborhood.

Rabbit do you think that conduit would be strong enough?? i have made tree climers out of it and it was always strong enough but i dont know about putting it between the cable--but you could flatten the ends and drill them that should help with a little added sterength

It might be, if you cut the rungs short enough. Even if it wasn't strong enough, I bet you'd notice the conduit bending before it would ever snap.ropingk wrote:Rabbit do you think that conduit would be strong enough??

RE: Rope Ladder
Why not just get a caving ladder? They're lightweight, strong, and portable. Of course If I recall correctly, they can be expensive and awkward to climb.
RE: Rope Ladder
Expensive and hard to climb would be two strikes aginst buying one cheap and easy would be a lot better plus there is that feeling of Get-R-Done

Yeah, I always wanted one of those. But I realized I could make one that was like 3 or 4 times the length of those ones you can buy and I could make it for way less.gimpface wrote:Why not just get a caving ladder?
