Abandoned waterpark/waterslide, Fort Smith, AR

Post by Snagglebroth »

A friend of mine and I recently went to take pictures of the waterpark. I dont really know much history about it, except that i was in operation in middle-late 70's to the early 80's. It was open again in like 1985, then shut down after one summer.
I dont know who owns it, but, nobody seems to care that you are up there. There is a bunch of graffiti, and bums. It is pretty hidden. Don't go on Tuesday.
Most of the slide is gone except for 2 main sections The bottom is probably the most impressive of the 2 because of the grades the turns pulled.
I remember there use to be a clothing room, and the whole slide was there, but that was torn down awhile ago. The slide itself wrapped around the whole hill it is on.
It is a pretty cool place, if anybody wants a tour, I would love to give one. Don't hesitate to ask for directions or the like, email whenever you like.

I'll have to make a mental note for this one, because that's really cool. I almost never go to Fort Smith, so I'll have to remember to check it out when I'm there.

No self-respecting skater wears any kind of clothing with a dragon on it. Thusly, no respectable skater has ever, nor will ever, wear JNCO clothing.

Nice pics but where is this located in Fort Smith? I grew up there and have many memories of the old "Wet Willies Water Slide" on the hill of Rogers, Avenue. The pics didnt really remind me of that thou.
