Odd Fellows Home in Liberty

Post by memory_machine »

Has anyone seen this place? It's a huge manor type estate that you can see on the right as you enter Liberty coming from Blue Springs. I couldn't help but notice it when I was driving my sister back to school at William Jewell College. The place was massive. She said that she and some friends were recently able to sneak into the place because they knew that the guard who works there was at band practice - I guess someone knew him. Apparently everything inside has hardly been touched since it was abandoned years ago. Has anyone seen this place, or better yet, explored it?

No, it's right off of 291 just before you enter Liberty. You can't miss it from the hwy though, it's a huge manor looking place on the right hand side of the road (if you're heading north).

There was a guy named Mole that posted some pictures of this place on UER a while back. Supposedly there is a guard that lives on the property?

Hell, I live five minutes from that place! I thought the building had burned down. Guess I'll have to do a drive by and check it out.

My great-grandpa was an Oddfellow, so if I threw his plaque in the car and carted it with me if there was a guard I could probably get away with saying I was doing family research.

Well, I'm a pretty odd fellow myself, but you don't see me pulling that kind of crap.

I went there tonight.. We went to the back entrance by the grave yard. Most of the fences have been stomped all over so they are not too bad to get over. Once I stepped foot over the graveyard fence and was inside I turned around to give my girlfriend a hand over I saw two cop cars pull into the neighborhood. We all got low on the ground untill they left. My advice is to not go to any dead in streets to park. Residents to these neighborhoods will report it to the police

There is a house located on the far right behind the buildings. Download Google Earth and type in Odd Fellows rd and go to liberty. Thats a good way to get a good look of were to go.

I think I've been inside that building. Way back when they were using half of it still. I was what, 12?
