Springdale Pool

Post Dispatch says Springdale is closing this year after 62 years. Sad sad day for the STL area. Wonder if it will become an urbex site? Can't see anyone buying it.

I also heard about this. Bet that place is going to look awesome in the middle of summer. It is sad though.

Still a shame this place closed, basically for no reason (the kids were too lazy to operate it after their dad died). Google maps shows a pretty sad state. Anyone get out there recently to look around?

I used to go here every summer as a kid. One of the few places with a high dive. Had a little camp site deal, where you could BBQ. Dunno if there would be too much to explore. There was a small concession stand and some bathrooms. Might be a cool place to skate though.

Looking on Google's satellite view it appears the pool has largely been filled in with dirt and there's a variety of equipment around it.

Yea I was not sure if that was dirt fill or just the result of flooding the last 2 years. It doesn't seem uniform. Such a shame the daughters of the old man didn't want to run this. I think it was the largest pool west of the Mississippi at one time.

It was completely filled in but now it's as though the top couple of feet have been either dug out our scoured away unevenly in the flood. It's still full of dirt just not the top couple of feet.
