Hi all. I grew up in the area (Mt. Vernon to be exact) and I'm planning some filming in the area to be done this spring/summer. The topic is scary Ozark folklore. Many of the interviews we are doing in abandoned locations. I thought you all might be able to help. I've been looking around and found some okay options, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for locations in the Joplin/Springfield area that are
1. abandoned
2. pretty accessible for a small crew of filmmakers
I'm probably looking at an abandoned house or church, and probably will have the interviewee standing on the porch or front entrance so we can do some nice wide shots as well as tighter shots.

That's the look I'm going for. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Just take a short trip out to picher and Cardin. You will find plenty of perfect houses

Thanks a lot. Picher seems about perfect, but I'll probably check out both. Thanks again.
