Nice! Thanks for sharing.
More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Those pictures remind me of one of my many details throwing furniture off of barracks roofs. My guess is that someone was getting a check from the government to replace the broken furniture, because I don't see any logical reason we broke every single piece of furniture before loading it into trucks. I don't think anyone there knew why we were breaking it. I guess if we had just left it there, it would have just rotted. I still wonder who up the chain gave the order to break it all and ship it off.

Drove by yesterday. The inside is completely gutted. There are new windows in the upper floors. There's a 6' high chain link fence around the whole place, 3 gates with padlocks on the E,W, and N sides. Inside that a 10' electric fence except at the entrances in the chain link. The north and west sides of the building are possibly on video surveillance from the cameras on the corner of the donation building. I wasn't really look for cameras though.

Re: Armory building downtown, just south of I-64?
The plan for the new insides looks nice, but I think their challenge will be to create an attractive outdoor space. If you notice, all the outdoor conceptual images are east-west facing. None really show the raised highway to the north or the train tracks to the south. Although there is a nice ivy covered wall to block vision of the electrical substation.
And they're behind schedule, from the 2019 article on their press page: "Construction is underway, and the plan is for renovation of the building’s shell to be completed by the end of 2019. The goal is to be ready for tenants by the first or second quarter of 2020."

RE: Armory building downtown, just south of I-64?
always meant to go back again after my last visit. I've got some much newer video/photos of the main stadium section but the trip was cut short prior to getting to the rest of the place. Next thing I know it was getting redeveloped. Whoops.
