Hillary Clinton is running for president.

If you bastards elect this one I'm going to disown the US.

No more Bushes or Clintons or otherwise dynastic and business-as-usual figureheads of state. Otherwise we are so fucked. Well we're already fucked as it is...

I'll probably end up voting for a 3rd party candidate like I did last election.

Got to be careful with nasty old winches, they tend to break when put under high strain.

My hard drive crapped out last night. If I can't figure out how to recover the data off of it I'll lose all my exploration pics, amongst other irreplaceable data.

I would try to hook it up as an external on a working machine and attempt to transfer.

Always make backups of backups and back those up as well.

it's a sata drive, currently the bios doesn't recognize that it's even connected.

Not a good sign.. But there's still the possibility of a cable being disconnected or power supply acting stupid. Or SATA being disabled in the bios, or CMOS battery failure resetting some BIOS settings perhaps.

Best Buy or Micro Center should be able to get you an external SATA-USB adapter for like 20 bucks so you could try hooking it up to a working machine as an external and trying your luck with it that way.

Were there any symptoms leading up to this? Was the computer off and unplugged for a long time?

Whatever you do, don't format it. First, check BIOS settings for drive SATA opertation.

Just got a killer job offer..... from the competitor.

Ironically, I recently started a new job.

Taking this new-new job would mean repaying my current employer for some money they've invested in me.

If this was 6 months ago, or 6 months in the future, it wouldn't cost me anything to jump ship.

BAH!!!!

So, I've never seen a lot of movies and that includes Indiana Jones films.

Today I watched Temple of Doom and.. holy shit. I didn't realize it was so corny. I figured it was a cliche action hero movie.. but damn it. First thing is a battle over a girl and a diamond, a cheesy chase scene with a child driver, a plane crash that they narrowly avoided by using a liferaft as a parachute, landing in the snow, sliding down a mountain, off a cliff, into some water, and drifting to India.

Additionally, I wish my friend hadn't mentioned it half-way through, but I don't think there was a single calm audio portion of the movie. The hero music is playing through 98% of it and the other 2% is super exaggerated animal sounds.

What a letdown. Please tell me the other ones are cooler.

They are, especially Raiders of the Lost Ark. The little Asian kid in the movie you watched was super annoying.

Yeah I haven't watched them in a while but that one was probably the least awesome. One of my favorite movies of all time will always be the Last Crusade. That's the best one IMO.
