Anyone else see the Bloomberg article about the Springfield National Audio Company?
According to the report it is the last Cassette Manufacturer....in the world? I dunno, they just say "Last Cassette Manufacturer" and since they are the only one, they have the entire market of retro nostalgia cassette music, and actually are doing really good business.
The article talks about how they have a bunch of really old manufacturing equipment from the 30s through the 80s that they have to interface with modern computerized controls, and they interview the engineer who has the task of keeping all of this equipment from long-defunct companies up and running and with replacement parts being essentially non-existent.
Apparently they printed all of the limited run Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack cassettes there? I had no idea.

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.
