^ That place was super cool (literally and figuratively)! It's incredible how well your camera handles the absence of light. Did you have to do any postprocessing to achieve super smooth blacks like that, or is that original color?

oh, I did set a maximum auto ISO on the camera, though. I usually shoot full manual for stills but I have an auto custom setting wherein I have a max auto ISO specified and I believe that carries over to the video. I tried to set it at a level that would achieve the most realistic lighting conditions and not artificially boost the dark areas and I think it worked fairly well.

Second Baptist Church Currently undergoing conversion to a brewery.

They started boarding it up and clearing out vegetation recently but we managed to get inside before it was sealed up for good.

This place, along with the awesome church right across the street from it, were never identified correctly on my blog to protect their identity. But now they're both no longer abandoned so I have updated their names as well as provided obscure historical information, because that's how I roll.

I've got some new posts coming up that I've been holding off on posting for a few different reasons. Been extremely busy lately but I've still managed some good explorations. Stay tuned.

In the mean time I thought I'd mention that I have a facebook page. If you're into that sort of thing..

I've seen similar. Personally I don't care what the status of a place is-if it's interesting I want to be in it.

What's the difference between a place that's been "uninhabited" and for sale for a few years and one that's been "abandoned" and for sale for a few years?

This place had security guards inside every night. Conveniently, they left their sign-in sheets in view from the front door. They usually showed up around 7pm and left at 5am. So we went when security was not there.

The last time we were here, the new owners/caretakers pulled up and were entering their alarm code in the panel in the room above us as we climbed out a window in the room below them. Good times.
