Pope county caves?

Post by rockhound92 »

Are there any caves in Pope county? I know a civil war era record cave was in the chigger hollow area, but it seems to have been destroyed when a company put in a natural gas pipeline. One of my caving friends said the formations aren't adequate to produce a cave in pope county, but you never know mother nature does some unpredictable things.

There are some small caves above Hector. What exactly are you looking for?

Something with an actual tunnel/branch. PM on those small caves.
