When my mom came to visit I told her Chouteau was pronounced "chateau."
She was like, "That's not how it's spelled."
So I told her, "Well the people around here call it Show-toe."
She said, "That makes more sense."

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Legend has it Rolla got its name due to a misunderstanding. The town was built along the railroad as it was being built. A person asked one of the builders wherte he was from and he said, "Raleigh", as in the carolinas. But, due to his Southern drawl the person heard, "Rolla" and that was used for the new town's name.

Nope, it is named for Lucy Wotham James, a wealthy lady known for her purchase and preservation of Maremec Springs park. She is a descendant of the founder of Maremec Iron works.

Are data would be correct because data is the plural of datum, a single piece of info.

WEll HER brothers are the ones who started the Iron Ore Operation at what is now meramec Springs
the ORIGINAL James House was in the TOWN of ST JAMES im not actually sure what it was called back then
but the house was called the Durmor Mansion and is now part of the Soldiers Home (well it was torn down to make room for some addition \Lucy donated her Wealth to form the Lucy Wortham james foundation which runs The Library and the Mermac springs park--not the trout part that is why the School is named after her and the James Foundation pretty much runs the town of ST james it is based out of NEW YORK CITY---NEW YOUR CIITY so looking over everything Id still say the Boys got it all going

The alternative is a forced long A sound. "A historic" sounds ok although forced because of the transition between the A sound and the H sound. AN separates the two better. A short "a" sound in front of the word historic sounds like you're dumb. Really dumb. "Uh historic". Fuck you all.

The other problem I have with "A historic", since you don't want to sound dumb by using a short "a" sound, is that most of us probably don't enunciate long A every time we use the word "a". If you do always go with long A every time that word is used, then "A historic" seems less out of place. I ran into A car. I went to A store. I found A historic building in my underpants. I don't fucking think so asshole.
