SubLunar's Blog
RE: SubLunar's Blog
Not sure why they went under. It was probably the largest employer in the small town in which it was located. But the internet has practically nothing on this place. And the information I provided in the blog post is literally all the information I've been able to piece together so far.
Re: RE: SubLunar's Blog
NICE!
RE: SubLunar's Blog
The Monastery wasn't the most visually stunning location I've explored in recent months, but it was definitely a fun time. We successfully dodged golfers and employees but were less successful evading mosquitoes and vegetation.. The golf carts literally ran right outside the front doors and were just feet from us a few times as I was trying to get some exterior photographs.
Re: SubLunar
well guess it was easy to get inside of anyway
Sleep is a waste of time, you can sleep when you are dead

Yes, if by that you mean the doors were wide open. But otherwise no. It took a few half assed attempts and finally one determined effort to get in there. And once we got in the gates of the active place on whose property this is, we still had to park and hike up to it undetected.

And now for something completely different..
Notes From The Underground
Also, I'm bringing 2007 back with this one. Some of these photos were taken with my old point and shoot that saw so much action back in the day and surprisingly still works.

A pleasure to read- very well written! And I'm glad my ass made it onto your blog.SubLunar's Blog wrote:We've teleported into a land far away, an underground Narnia where magical turds float past in enchanted rivers of piss... Part II
Scraping The Skies
This post includes the scariest fucking thing I've ever done..
I should mention that these trips occurred separately and in different places. I just posted em back to back because I think they compliment each other (underground/far above ground).

I did like that visualization. However, I feel your writing, Sub, is a bit over-dramatic and forced, but I say write how you want to write, not what I want to read.mindwaave wrote:A pleasure to read- very well written! More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

I agree and I'm working on it. Making words is hard.
Re: SubLunar
Just write the visual imagery, descriptions of what you see that put the reader there.

RE: SubLunar's Blog
I've edited them already several times since posting yesterday and this morning. Usually I trim out the fluff until just the core of what I was trying to get across is left. A few of my older posts have been updated with stories over the years as well and they're probably more refined since I've had more time to edit. So yeah that's why I take pictures as opposed to write books.
Re: SubLunar
I figured out the roof you were on from the skyline pics.

RE: SubLunar's Blog
Well a couple of them are being rehabbed so they won't be accessible for long, so I'm guessing that's why it's ok for me to post them. Many pictures that I took on these trips are too sensitive to post so what's up on the blog is just the stuff that was deemed safe.
