U.S.S. Inaugural
RE: U.S.S. Inaugural
Nicotti and Mandi are badasses for floating out to it. They definitely have the distinction of being the first.
But now the water's so low, we just walked right out to it today.
We drove it over to the Chain of Rocks intake towers and partied out on the towers for a while. Then we parked it back where it was.

Did Jeeves let down the ladder and open the door for you on the tower?SubLunar wrote:We drove it over to the Chain of Rocks intake towers and partied out on the towers for a while.

He did, and we had a table with bread and cheese cubes waiting for us inside. Super service.crazydrummerdude wrote:Did Jeeves let down the ladder and open the door for you on the tower?SubLunar wrote:We drove it over to the Chain of Rocks intake towers and partied out on the towers for a while.
For all interested, Sub's got a good writeup on the boat plus excellent pics in his latest blog entry.
Good times.

RE: U.S.S. Inaugural
Here's some shots of Steamboat Montana. Not really much to see, but still cool because of the history, and REALLY easy to get to right now. We walked right down the bank.

I found these near the stumps in the pic above

This pic is horrible. I tried to fix it, but I think I made it worse. It shows how much is exposed though..

Looks like some sort of ladder

Thanks! Good shots!
One Winter many (OK - many) years ago I was supposed to with my BSA Troop to visit it (ca. '52-4), but came down with flu. Drat.
And of course none of my buds took a camera.

Did you guys open this hatch? Cause I couldn't get it to budge when we were there.

More online investigation than onsite exploration these days.

Nope but I sure do need to go look! I read that there were several shipwrecks in that area.
